In 2005, an attempt was made to organize the HTUA as a formal body. I think those in favor AND those opposed could have handled things differently and we might have actually accomplished a beginning. If for no other reason than to have representation as a group before the board, I believe it is essential we organize. How do others feel about this? Is there any interest in organizing, or is anyone strongly opposed?

Unless this group stands up and organizes with set rules,
set expectations and specific goals and structure, we will always just be "umps
for hire." If you care enough about the league and your craft, organizing as an
association with by-laws, training sessions and goals SEPARATE from the HTL, the
organizing is the logical and smart thing to do. That's my opinion now and it
always has been my opinion. The league will always "dictate" policy unless we
become a representative organization.

What, in your opinion is an offense worthy of ejection? Arguing balls and strikes? When the batter draws a line in the dirt? If a coach says the magic words? We all have our own thresholds, but what, in general, will make you throw a player or coach and what will you tolerate?
